Don't Fall off your Chair!

Wow. I'm going to try again at making a blog post.

Hi. I'm Michelle, and I am finally RETIRED!!!! Actually, I retired on
Sept.30, 2021 and I am loving it!

Life got in the way, and I quit blogging a few years ago. I have missed
you all. I have to admit that I post mostly on Facebook. If you want to
follow me there,my user name is Shelly Bee. I'd love to have you  join me!

So How are you all? I am 65 and fine. I am getting back into quilting,
which feels nice, but I have GOT to quit buying fabric online!

Here is the latest quilt I have been working on. It is a Christmas gift. I just
got it back from the quilter today, and tomorrow I will probably try to get
the binding sewn on. It is a Kaffe Fassett quilt pattern using Kaffe collective
fabrics. This is the second second purple one I have made, but the other one
did not have borders on it. I have also made this pattern in Blues, and one
in reds, with no borders.

I might try and get another quilt made for another 'someone I love' before
Christmas too. Maybe I will get that one cut out tomorrow, Oh, today,
I guess!

Another good thing I did was restarted our Quilt group. We quit in 2018
when life got overwhelming for me.  We have a smaller group, all of retired,
and it feels good! We are all going to a dinner theater in Rock Island, Illinois,
about an hour from here, on December 16 to see White Christmas.  Should
be a blast, with these girls!

Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to say hello!

Michelle

  1. Sew great to hear from you again!!!!! I was thinking of you the other day. You've been missed. I haven't been reading blogs much in the last year (life got in the way, and hard to get restarted with so much going on). I do blog here and there. I can't follow you on Facebook, since I've never been on FB. Glad you re-started the quilting group and started quilting again. Didn't you have a long arm?

    1. I do have a midarm, which I still use, but I have a friend who has a Gammill longarm, and it makes beautiful designs, so sometimes we trade labor (I love sewing down binding by hand, so she lets me do that for her). I hope to post here more often. Good to hear from you as well!
