I don’t know what happened. This year, I missed the buds before they opened. I didn’t even notice them opened until this morning, and they were just as they are now. I’ll bet they have been blooms for a few days. With my early mornings and long days, I guess I don’t take notice of the beauty around me.
These peonies are the only living color I have in my yard. I don’t garden. I. Don’t. Like. To. Garden. (I’m sorry). I love the beauty, just not the work. With these, I don’t do a thing, except clip off the heads when the wind or rain gets them and they die. At the end of the season, we cut them down to the ground. Sad. So. Sad.
So, until it rains (which it will, sure as the sun rises and sets), I will do my best to enjoy these beauties. The only reason they thrive is because I am not capable of killing them off. Thank God for small favors!
Oh, I LOVE Peonies :)
ReplyDeleteI love them also there beautiful .I only planted them 1 year ,since we have a small yard I just couldn't stand all the ants but if I had a large yard it would be full of peonies .
ReplyDeleteSo very pretty...I have always admired them - but had not planted any...this year found one on the sale rack at Lowe's...so it came home with me...don't even know what color it is....will be a surprise when it blooms hopefully next year.
ReplyDeleteThey are my favorites I think and I don't even own one!!! Yours are gorgeous!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful. We don't have them this far south. My mother grew up in Nebraska, and always missed the ones that her grandmother grew at their farmhouse.
ReplyDeleteLOL; I have to laugh at your last line; isn't it neat how God provides beauty like this that is like the lilies of the field, they just grow, we can't do much to damage them, he just shows his creation off in them! Beautiful flowers! I'm not a garden either, I truly understand!
ReplyDeletebetty
They are blooming early this year. I didn't get mine staked up in time so they are falling over from the weight of the blooms, but they are still very pretty. They are one of my favorites!
ReplyDeleteYour Peonies are gorgeous! Iowa must be WAY ahead of Idaho, my peonies don't have any buds yet - that I have noticed. Maybe I should go out and take a closer look. Enjoy those big beautiful flowers!
ReplyDeleteI 'grow' dust, dog fur and weeds, mainly. I don't like to garden, either. Oldest son was the gardener for a while, but, he's staying at school this summer, so, no garden or new flowers.
