First Attempt At Free Motion Quilting

This was supposed to be a doll quilt, but it ended up being about the size of a placemat, so I guess it will be a 'bear' quilt, or a placemat. It was the perfect size to practice Free Motion quilting off the frame, though. I was pleased.

Tomorrow I will post the picture of the quilt top I made today. It is small top for a little girl I know and love. Maybe if I'm lucky, I'll get it quilted too. In the time I am wasting trying to do it without setting up the quilter, I should just set up the quilter and be finished with it.

Tomorrow is another day. I didn't get enough sleep last night (this morning), and it has been a busy day. It was our once a month quilting day and we had a GREAT time, as always. (This post has been revised since the first comments were made. I needed to use the correct terms. Sorry! =-D)

  1. You must mean first time machine quilting without a frame, right? It looks great and your loops are so open and even. What's the latest on your machine at Ken's?

  2. Way to go on the FMQ. It sounds like you had a great day and it's always so much fun when you get together with others to sew. All I did yesterday was one blue fleece litter mitten. I swear I'm addicted to making them.
