A-DOOR-ABLES And Make Up Bag

For a long time, I have wanted to make an A-DOOR-ABLE, just 'because'. I thought they were so cute, and when Joan Hawley posted ideas for Valentine's day, I REALLY wanted to make one. http://www.lazygirldesigns.com/blog/?p=964 I got right on it, and ordered a pattern. When it arrived, I could hardly wait. They were really fast, fun, and easy to make. This first one, I put batting in, and the second one, I just used an additional piece of fabric. It lays better. I did not receive the pattern soon enough to do anything for anyone, but I should be better prepared now. Thanks, Joan!
A fews weeks ago, I also made another bag. I was reading May Britt's blog, http://abyquilt.blogspot.com/ and found the tutorial for her Make Up Bag. I have been playing with Free Motion Quilting, so I thought, what a perfect way to practice FMQ! I really enjoyed making this bag. I think there are so many things that this bag would be good for. The thing that tops my list of perfect ideas, would be to put your foot control for your sewing machine, and the cord inside this bag for traveling to retreats and such. I think that is probably what this bag will be used for. I thought it turned out really cute. Thanks, May! http://abyquilt.blogspot.com/2006/11/make-up-bag-tutorial.html

  1. That's a very cute little bag. I love that pattern, but haven't had a chance to sew it yet.

  2. Ok, I LOVE that drawstring bag!!! I've got to make one. Would you believe I carry my makeup in a zip lock bag?? How funny is that?

Those adorables are cute too. I'll have to get that pattern.
