Stolen Innocence and Atonement

Wow. I can't believe it. I read a whole book this week. I don't usually read much, because of time, and being tired from work, but I read a whole book, and half of it, I read today. What an eye opener. It definately makes me feel grateful for my freedom to make choices, and grateful that I was not born into this 'religion'. This poor girl went through hell, fought for what she believed in, and came out a winner. God bless her soul.Tonight, Louie and I watched a movie that I had purchased a month or so ago, but just never found the time to watch. In the beginning, it was kind of hard to understand what people were saying, but soon, it wasn't a problem. Louie and I both enjoyed this movie. The time frame of the movie begins in 1935. I highly recommend both the book, and the movie.

  1. I'm waiting till the weekend to buy that book ,in my humble opinion that is just wrong the way they treat those children .I love to read ,its nothing for me to read a novel a day ( I have insomnia so it gives me something to do in the wee hours of the morning )I especially love anything by Janette Oke .

  2. The book sounds wonderful! I love to read so I may have to look into purchasing that book.

I also have that movie! I really liked it. I don't watch alot of movies like that unless I am home alone, so I can relax and get more into it.

  3. I'll have to put those on my list to read/see. I just finished "the friday night knitting club." Good read. Runs very parallel to the relationships of quilters.

  4. I'm with you on the "not being born into that". Makes ya wonder what's wrong with some of these people. Really makes me grateful for my church family and how serious they take teaching me from the Bible.
I'd never get Garry to sit through that movie, but I might get Val to.
    Have a great weekend....

  5. I liked that movie, too. Very well done, I thought. The book looks interesting. That whole way of life is so wrong for innocent children.

  6. That book looks so good. I feel so bad for the children that are raised in such unfortunate circumstances. I am so happy that she was able to escape. I recently watched Attonment and I thought it was pretty good. I got tired of the war scenes though. I wish that had more scenes at that beautiful estate! I wish it had a different ending too!!!
