64K Medical Marathon

Gee, it's no wonder I'm worn out and BROKE today. Yesterday I ran (ok, with my van) a 64K Medical Marathon. I guess I didn't train very well, because after getting my eyes dilated and spending $565 on two pair of lenses, including the exam, NO NEW FRAMES, well, I had a headache pretty much for the rest of the day. I went home and rested for the next leg of the race. I did have some time at home to rest, and by then, my headache pretty much did subside, but then mid afternoon I jumped into the race again, and ran (again in my van) 18 miles to my dentist to get the space between my two front teeth fixed. I am happy to report they are good as NEW again, but my checkbook isn't doing too well. Add $92.50 (my copay--thank God for dental insurance!) to the $565 I spent this morning, and I'm getting to be quite an expensive commodity.I jumped out of the dentist's chair with just five minutes to spare. Next leg of the race was two blocks up the street to see my Chiropractor. Add another $15 copay, and I'm up to $672.50 for the day. I hope Louie doesn't decided I'm too expensive to keep! (Maintenance, yes, that's what it is...God forbid what I'd look like without maintenance!)That didn't take too long, and I headed back the 18 miles I had just ran, and was back home by 5:15pm. I seriously thought about going over to the Doctor's clinic just to round out the trip, but decided I really could save that for another day. I felt like I had 'exposed' enough of me for one day. Glad I don't run those marathons very often. I'm afraid I wouldn't make it!

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.

1 Corinthians 6: 19-20

  1. What kind of guarantee or warranty came with all these body repair jobs?

but aren't you glad you have the insurance...even if you had to pay the co-pays/

    Enjoy your weekend.
