It appears that I have a 'wonky' corner, but I don't care. It's not going into any quilt competitions, so it will be just fine. I don't think I am quite finished yet. I think I will add another black floral border, wider than the 'two row' rectangles, then use up my scraps for a scrappy binding after it is quilted. As it is, I am about out of scraps, so I may have to dig out some more of the same fabrics, or just fill in with the black floral to make sure I have enough to go around. It took me half a day just to do the scrappy border. The squares (really, rectangles) were not mathmatically figured, so on the corners, there are only partial squares, and honestly, more like slivers, but again, I don't care. It's just for me anyway. I really do wish that the camera would show the colors like they really are. This quilt is much brighter, with much bolder colors than the camera tells. Maybe it is because of the dark and light fabrics. Maybe I have confused the camera. I guess you'll just have to take my word for it.
I love it!!! I am crazy for anything scrappy. Well done!!

Another black border would really make it pop. It's beautiful, nice job, wonky and all. I'm with you, who cares, it's the love you put into it not how perfect it is. God loves us and we're not perfect so why not quilts?

ReplyDeleteI love it! That border just sets it off. You have given me an idea for the border on Marcia's quilt. I have 8 squares done....a lot more to go. Sune filtering through a window is one of my favorite "views".
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful Michelle.
ReplyDeleteI love the shot of the sewing table in the sun.
Enjoy the quilting

The black just seems to do the trick for corraling all the colors. Love it!
ReplyDeleteYes, the sunlight is so much better than artificial light. Supposed to be 70 again today here...then cooler weather and rain starting tomorrow.
Have a fun day!
I was going to email you today, I had not heard much from you for a few days. :)
