The workers arrived earlier than expected, at 10:15 this morning, to start working on the driveway. Here is the day in pictures. (Click to enlarge)
Here is the guy from the city, discussing with the contractor what they will be doing to replace the curb. …and here’s Louie in on the action. Louie actually knows this guy, as he used to work with him years ago at Dahl Ford in Davenport.
They left about 4pm, and will return tomorrow afternoon about 1pm to pour this section of the driveway, which includes the area that connects up to the side of the house and porch. They will then get the next section of driveway ready so they can pour cement on Thursday. After they pour cement on Thursday, they will get the last section ready, and pour that on Friday, as well as tear out the curb, and get that ready for the city. The city will then pour the curb on Monday or Tuesday. Probably by July 17, we should be able to drive on the driveway again. This will just be so nice when it is finally complete.
Be blessed
Some mighty powerful machines involved in this adventure. This has been interesting to see what all is involved.

Wow what a project! I had no idea that much work went into a driveway. So what are you busy with to keep your mind off all the construction? Are you making any quilts?
