Louie got a Blackberry Curve 8330 phone about 3 or 4 months ago. I really was not interested too much in getting a Blackberry at the time, but also, I was not eligible to move up to a different plan until November. With the recent headache of no internet and many computer problems, along with the fact that I just learned Blackberry had a flip phone, I was ready to get one. I was really not interested in the style of phone Louie had. I wanted a flip phone…something smaller and that could be protected from damage easier. When I found out Blackberry had a flip, I was ready.
Saturday, I made the move. I had spent some time on the internet looking at this phone, and got the Blackberry Pearl 8220 Flip Of course, I needed a case or skin or something to help protect it, so I got this pink gel skin. My first try at texting was frustrating, as the keypad has a couple of modes for texting and it was set in the more difficult mode, (for me anyway) but now I have it set to what is comfortable and easy for me, but I still have a LOT to learn.
To say I LIKE this phone would be an understatement, because I LOVE IT! I love it, because I KNOW when I have emails without going to the computer. That saves me a ton of time logging in to see I have no mail, or mail I really don’t want. I can delete them before I ever get them into my email inbox. I can actually sit down on my breaks at work instead of standing at the computer which is in my area. Yes, I have to stand at the computer, because I HAVE to know if any of you have emailed me! Then I have to check blogs. I CAN DO THAT TOO through this phone, and I can do it sitting down. Oh, phone, how I love thee! Other wonderful news is, Louie and I got the results today for the Life Line Screening we had done on December 3rd. Louie and I were both screened for Carotid Artery Disease—we both tested NORMAL, Atrial Fibrillation—NORMAL, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm—NORMAL, Peripheral Arterial Disease (6-lead EKG)—NORMAL, and I had a bone density test, and showed LOW RISK. Louie did not get results for bone density, as the machine could not get a reading on him. The techs who screened us said that sometimes it is difficult to get a reading on a man (not sure why, but that is what they said!).
Louie and I feel very fortunate and blessed that our results were so positive. The question of how healthy we were in these areas have been on our minds for a long time, and now we know. As recommended, we will share these results with our doctor.
As you prepare for Christmas, continue to count your blessings, and remember that
Be blessed!

Michelle, so you got a new toy for Christmas...one that excites you and will be "helpful" for a long time to come...I don't think I could learn all the apps on these new phones.
ReplyDeleteOh the best news are the wonderful results on your tests....blessings in that dept for sure.
Good to know you are both blessed with good health ,it sure makes you feel better doesn't it .
ReplyDeleteLove your new Blackberry they just changed the rules here in Canada you are not allowed to use it while driving ,even if you just have it off in your hand you could be charged .It's it like that in the USA ?I got Stan the hands free speaker for the car , he won't wear the ear piece one .Enjoy it .
I'm glad you both tested normal for everything.

Love and hugs Gina xx
I thought that red phone looked familiar lol. My daughter has the exact one! She never keeps it in the sleeve it came with, and she had 45 minutes of our conversations during the day. We had been out shopping and it got turned on. I like my flip phone also. Although I only have a Samsung basic one.
ReplyDeleteI love the black pearl one you got, that is snazzy looking. My daughter has the internet with hers, and when were traveling she had used mapquest to get directions. (when we were lost) :) How great that it will be more convenient for you to use at work. This is the age of technology, but boy oh boy I am so behind lol. I look to my daughter to help me so often with such things.
Glad to hear that you and Louie had a good report from the tests you took! :) Have a good day!
I have the Blackberry Bold Michelle and I love it too! blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the screening results!! And I'm sure that you do love your phone! Mine is great, too!!
ReplyDeleteI was thrilled to see that you were screened for an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) as a preventive measure, Michelle. Most people don't realize how easy it is - a simple ultrasound screening that is painless and only takes a few minutes. I work with Find the AAAnswers, and our goal is to increase awareness of AAA and encourage people at-risk to get screened for the disease. If any of your readers are interested in learning more about AAA, I encourage them to visit www.FindtheAAAnswers.org.
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays to you and your readers, Michelle!
I have heard about these phones. I have a friend that doesn't have internet at home but has this phone. So do you pay extra for this service? I am sure that you do. I am so glad all of your tests turned out great. It pays to stay on top of these things. I hope you have a Merry Christmas!
