New Year’s Day Garage Clean

Lots of pictures in this post…be ready!

Louie and I worked ourselves sick (literally) today cleaning and de-cluttering the garage to get ready for the electrician next week. We bought Louie a new compressor, and it needs to have a 220 hookup, so we needed to move stuff out of the way.  We decided it would be a good day to haul stuff out. Here are some ‘before’ pictures. In this first picture, you can see a small yard shed. Our dear friends Jeff and Ronelle took it off our hands. Thanks guys!                                quilt and garage clean 010 quilt and garage clean 011   quilt and garage clean 012                          Decluttering….              quilt and garage clean 013   quilt and garage clean 014quilt and garage clean 016   quilt and garage clean 017 quilt and garage clean 018                                        Louie enjoyed this part, being the little pyromanic that he is!quilt and garage clean 019 quilt and garage clean 020 quilt and garage clean 023 quilt and garage clean 024                       I don’t know if you can see them or not, but we lost control of a bunch of green packing peanuts.  They took off across the parking lot, and were all heading the same direction.  It looked like they were running away, and all following each other. quilt and garage clean 026                       We found them all congregated on the front side of the lot, but we left them there. I’m sure they were only resting and continued on their journey within minutes. (LOL!) quilt and garage clean 025                       Finally, the finished project. I love a tidy space!               quilt and garage clean 029  quilt and garage clean 030                       In case you are wondering what the block things hanging from the ceiling are, they are our motorcycle helmets in helmet bags. Louie said they looked like punching bags!quilt and garage clean 031                       Yes, there are three bags of golf clubs. (Hi, my name is Louie and I have an obsession with golf clubs. I pick them up at Goodwill, just like my wife Michelle picks up sewing machines and FABRIC! …and the crowd says, ‘Hi Louie!’)            quilt and garage clean 032 quilt and garage clean 028                      We have a van full of ‘stuff’ going to Goodwill tomorrow, and besides the burning, we took a bunch of cardboard to the recycling center.

We also spent about an hour in the ‘shoppe’ tidying up and vacuuming sawdust, etc. I sure did my share of sneezing today!quilt and garage clean 033 quilt and garage clean 034                      Quoting my sweetie Louie…’As my old grandmother used to say….Much Gooder!’ (although I’m pretty sure when he tells me that, it’s just all a line of balony!)

Next space….Louie’s office (the eBay room). Ugh! (But not today!)

Hope you had a great day and felt your New Year’s day was productive too.

Be blessed,

Michelle

  1. Looks good. Can I borrow thw pair of you to do Mal's shed. It is a pigsty and a death trap. He's been meaning to tidy it up for I don't know how long.

  2. You guys were very productive. Did the garage have some heat going on in there...right now our weather is too cold to spend any time in the garage to speak of.

    Enjoy the weekend!

  5. Oh my. You all did a lot of work. That is something we dread doing but has to be done soon. He keeps talking about it anyway. I hope it warms up before we tackle the garage.

  6. Michelle we literally cannot walk into our garage. It's a detached one and besides all the normal stuff, holiday decorations, etc. Jerry also keeps his 4 wheeler, his riding lawn mower and his push mower, the generator, and that kind of stuff in there. We have an old boat house that needs some work to be usable but I'm hiring someone to do that so at least we could put the holiday decorations in it and he will have to quit saying it's my stuff cluttering up the garage! blessings, marlene
