Last night while riding in the car with Louie, I said to him, ‘You know, I REALLY wish there was a place my roll of batting could be mounted, so every time I need some yardage, I didn’t have to crawl on my hands and knees, and unearth it from ‘wherever’ I had moved it (for the 15th time…and then put it back, which usually meant moving tons of ‘stuff’)). Then, as soon as I said it, I KNEW where I wanted it!
I said, ‘I know!!! Under the quilting frame! But how are we going to mount it?’
I had originally thought my sweet Louie would have to build me something, (and knowing him, what I came up with will NOT be ‘classy’ enough for him, and he will probably want to improve on it, but I thought it was pretty ingenious, myself!)At least it satisfied me for now!
This morning when I went downstairs, my mind started working, and I just COULD NOT WAIT.
Ta da!
All it cost was two WIRE HANGERS (from the pile that needed to go back to the uniform service), some painters tape, and the extendable handle (which I HAD to extend) from Louie’s house cleaning brush. Everything we had! I bent and twisted the wire hangers to fit tight over the top of my two center braces. (Note, each one is different, as I added the second brace much later.)
Left side: (With rubber handle grip).
Right side: (I wrapped folding up paper around this end of the handle, and wrapped tape around it to make it the same diameter of the other end so the roll would hang evenly, as this was the extendable end of the handle that fit inside the larger aluminum tube and screwed into the brush).
Woo hoo! I am ecstatic!!
I hope something really simple in your life makes you happy today too!
Have a wonderful Friday and an ever better weekend! It is windy here, so probably won’t venture too far today, or I might get blown off the road!
