It’s been almost two decades since I have put up a full size tree, and many years since I have put up a tree at all. Partly because there never seems to be any room, but mostly because we don’t exchange with anyone for Christmas. I have been missing a tree though. Memories of a Christmas tree come from when I was a child. The magic of the lights, watching Christmas specials on television with only the lights of the tree on. Such a cozy feeling.
Yesterday while Louie and I shopped a few thrift stores, we found a tree. $16 for a 6 foot tree, and it even came in a nice BIG tote! We did have to buy new Christmas lights, but we had lots of ornaments, beginning from when we were married, 36 years ago.
I love the Christmas season. I love the lights, and the music, and the cheerfulness of people who usually lack it the rest of the year. Happy Holidays everyone, and in the hustle and bustle of the season, don’t forget the reason that we celebrate!
Be blessed!
Michelle
Your tree is so pretty and what a buy .I still haven't had a chance to put ours up ,maybe this weekend .
ReplyDeleteYour tree is so pretty. Glad you decided to put up one.
ReplyDeleteTree looks really neat!! So glad you decided to put one up this year! I so agree with you, the best Reason for the Season is Jesus! Like I have said before, the best gift; one size fits all, doesn't have to be exchanged; never breaks, doesn't run out of batteries. Amazing wonderful God, that is our Jesus!
