Do you remember when I blogged about adding this Wrought Iron above my coat rack?
Yesterday, I casually asked my hubby if we had any black spray paint. He said he thought we did. What did I have in mind? I told him that I thought I would like to have the coat rack painted black to match my wrought iron. He thought that was a great idea, and his wheels started spinning. He said he thought he had an idea that I would like. He went to the shop to start working on it. I took a nap. When I woke up, this is what he had waiting for me.
He added little framed piece, then he added a little bit of (car) body putty to mimic a weld. He painted the framed piece a gun metal gray. He also painted the (gold) hooks gun metal after removing the ceramic knobs. He painted the rack itself, black. I think it looks great! (Ok, I see he needs to paint the screw heads…it’s on the ‘to do’ list.)
The welds on the wrought iron piece are what inspired him.
Thanks honey! It looks great, and I love it!
We’re heading out shortly for a motorcycle ride to Tanner’s Orchard. The sun is shining, it’s a beautiful day, and I’ll be wearing my winter jacket!
Michelle I love it - he did a wonderful job and the way he finished it is perfect! blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteImpressive. Your husband must be a jewel. Could you cover the screw heads with permanent magic marker? It might not dry---just a thought. I enjoy reading your blog.
