I am quite flattered that Tammy, from Tammy’s Craft Emporium has awarded me a Liebster award! (The origins of the Liebster Blog award are somewhat unclear but the general consensus is that it originated in Germany, Liebster meaning favorite or dearest, to showcase bloggers with fewer than 200 followers.) Tammy and I share a love of sewing, quilting, and collecting old sewing machines. She has been a major cheerleader of my blog from the very beginning. Thank you, Tammy!
I talked to Tammy, and she agreed that it would be ok to just answer the questions, so here goes.
Tammy’s 11 questions for me are:
1. What is your favorite quilt block or pattern?
I love the pinwheel block in almost any variation.
2. What is your guilty pleasure?
Does is have to be guilty? Peanut butter, chocolate and pastries.
3. What inspires you?
My quilty friends inspire me for quilting, my husband inspires me in everything in life I do, but God is my total inspiration, because without Him, I would be nothing.
4. Tell me about your pets.
Well, I have no pets, so there is nothing to tell. Please don’t hate me. I never had a pet growing up, and we have never had pets as a couple. We are gone so much with our jobs and on the weekends, we just feel it would be so unfair to an animal who needs love to live with us. The poor thing would be alone more than with us.
5. What is your music of choice?
I love all kinds of music, but my heart is with Christian music. I especially love Southern Gospel, but I do love Contemporary Christian music as well. I love Classical, Oldies, Soft Rock, and I even love Polka!
6. Favorite vacation spot.
I am not a good traveler. I love being in my own home more than in a hotel. I do love day trips though, and I don’t mind an occasional overnight stay, so we don’t stray too far from home. We do love Madison, Wisconsin though, and it is only a couple hours away.
7. What is the most influential book you have read?
The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey. I just finished reading it and learned a lot. My husband and I are very inspired to make some major changes in our lives. If I could, I would buy a copy for everyone I love.
8. What quilts are on your bucket list to make?
I never know what quilts I will make. I think whatever inspires me when I am ready to start something new. I look at a lot of blogs, pinterest and I just do a lot of ‘googling’. I love a lot of them, but never know which one will win the ‘inspiration’ at the time.
9. What is your favorite quilt making technique?
I guess I don’t have one!
10. What is your favorite color combination?
I am a creature of habit, and I also seem to keep the same color combinations for a long, long time. I love rich, bold colors like maroons, golds and dark greens. I also love black and green, and red and black……well, I guess maybe I don’t have a favorite color combination!
11. What quilting tool or gadget can you not live without? (other than your sewing machine!)
I love my June Tailor Shape Cut rulers. I can’t do anything without them!
I am not making any nominations, but if anyone would like to tell me a little about themselves, please do so by leaving a comment, or direct me to your blog so I can read all about you!
Check out Tammy’s Craft Emporium! You will like what you see!
I enjoyed getting to know you better!
ReplyDeleteHi Michelle, I enjoyed learning a little more about you. What would you do with a million dollars?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Michelle. I loved reading all your answers to the questions. I will be checking out Tammy's blog. Good luck with following Dave Ramsey. My son and daughter-in-law follow his money tips and have done some amazing things.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your award, and I enjoyed reading your answers. I also enjoy using vintage sewing machines. I think that is what attracted me to your blog. I hope you will visit my blog, too.
ReplyDeleteThank you Deborah. I would love to visit your blog, but I do not know what it is. Please direct me to it. You are also a No-reply blogger, so I cannot send you an email. :(
ReplyDeleteMichelle, I'm so happy for you that your blog won an award! It was great to get to know you better!! Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteLoved Loved Loved this! I just got this award too! Dave Ramsey is my all time favorite hero!!!! He saved our financial life years ago!!!! And I did buy a bunch of his books and gave them for Christmas one year. At Christmas they usually do a special price that you can afford for gifts! I think it would be a wonderful wedding gift too!
ReplyDeleteIt's always fun to peek into a blogger friend's life.
