May Quilting—Spinning Stars and Disappearing 4 Patch

Yesterday we had our last quilting day until September. (sad) We take June, July, and August off, as life gets so busy in the summer. Margaret and Kate still hadn’t had a turn to choose a fat quarter color, or to teach a block, so they both taught a block. Margaret taught us the Spinning Star block, and she chose yellow as her color for fat quarters.

Aren’t they pretty?

Kate chose the Disappearing 4 Patch block, and she chose red for her fat quarters.

Oh, I love red!IMG-20130505-00371

THIS naughty girl kept stealing my scissors all day out of my scrap bag scissor pouch, and whenever I went to use them, they were gone! She said she didn’t know where her scissors were, because she didn’t have a scissor pouch to keep them in. We had fun ‘fighting like sisters’ about it, until she asked if I would sew a pouch for scissors into her bag. I did, then she said, ‘Ok, I’ll look for my scissors. They might be in this box here…oh, here they are!’ We all laughed, then I REALLY gave her a hard time about using my scissors. I thought she left them at home! I, in turn, got teased for ‘not sharing’! Oh, I do love my quilting girls!

We also celebrated Leslie’s birthday, but sadly, I failed to take pictures. Sad smile We also had a special visitor! KT’s daughter Erika came to visit. What a sweetie! No pictures of her either.

It was a fun, fun day, and I will miss my quilting girls. Hurry September! No, let’s have a nice long summer first. We’ve waited too long through the winter for summer, to wish it away!

  2. It was a really fun day. Thanks Michelle for opening up your home to us "girls". I know we all don't say it often enough but we do all love you and your generosity. Also, thanks to Louie for allowing his home to be invaded by "quilters" and all of their stuff.
