Our quilt group met Saturday for our December quilting day, (sadly, we were missing a few gals due to commitments), and KT chose this month to teach a quilt block. Each of us made one block.
She chose a pattern called ‘The Right Slice’. The pattern is found in the November/December 2013 issue of Quiltmaker magazine, and was written by the QM staff.
KT had a ‘fog day’ one day last week, when schools were closed, and since she is a teacher, she had time to sew some blocks before she got here, but made more today as well. Here are a few of the blocks that our group made.
KT chose the color for our Fat Quarter exchange. Yummy Yellows!
We also celebrated Margaret’s birthday…..
…and had a gift exchange for Christmas, along with a potluck. Not all the gifts given were in this picture, as a few gals came after I took this photo!
This was just all the loot I got!
After I sewed my block, before we did our gift exchange, I started cutting out thread catcher bags for a gal who asked me to make some for her to give as gifts to some of her friends. Yesterday, I finished them up.
After everyone left Saturday, Louie and I went to Cedar Rapids with my brother (my sisterinlove was working), and we bought a new dishwasher. My sweet brother is going to come down this coming Saturday and install it for us. My current dishwasher will be 18 years old in January, and although it still works, the racks are rusting again, for the second time (after we patched them), and now the drying fan sounds like it is grinding corn, so we decided to just replace it. (The new one kind of looks like a black cat at night, doesn’t it?)
After we purchased the dishwasher, we went to Red Robin (YUMMMM!) for supper. I had a cheeseburger and fries.
It was another good day.
The pincushion bags turned out really cute. It was a great day. I hope you like your new dishwasher.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great block and awesome colors.
ReplyDeleteI like those blocks. They look easy enough. Stay warm.
