It’s been a few months of uncertainties, but Louie secured his new job home today, and tomorrow morning he starts working at J&S Auto Specialists as a mechanic, or whatever you call them these days. He will be working less than 5 minutes from home, and actually, not far from where I work. His hours are 40 hours (and not 50+ he had been working), banker’s hours, and he couldn’t be happier. He likes that he will be responsible for only himself. Sometimes, change is good.
Forty years ago, he started working as a mechanic, and almost 25 years ago, when he started working as a service manager, he sold his toolbox and a big share of his tools, so we found a nice toolbox on Craigslist. It was brand new in the box! This afternoon, he went through his tools at home, and came up with quite a few to take to work with him.
After I got off work tonight, we went shopping for the rest of what he thought he needed with a trip to Lowe’s and Harbor Freight. I’m sure he will find he still needs a few things, but he’s well on his way.
We have had many friends praying for us, for which we are very thankful, and God has taken very good care of us during this transition. He heard our prayers and took care of us, just like He promised.
Day two. I didn’t get a picture of him after his first day of work, but I got one tonight. The shirt patch, Burnett-Thiel, is not the right workplace, but it was the only shirt he had left from a long time ago. His uniforms are ordered already. He’s having to get used to using muscles he hasn’t used for awhile, but he likes the job and the people he works for.
Update January 27: Here he is with his new glasses AND new work shirt proudly displaying J&S Auto Specialists.
We just never know what roads God plans for us to walk, but this is his new road.
Do Not Worry
25"For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26"Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?27"And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life?…

God is good. Even when the way is difficult and dark. So thrilled your husband took the leap. Thank you for giving the credit where it is due and not fearing what people may say.
ReplyDeleteMy God loves me and I love my God. I am what I am today because of Him. He never denies me and I will never deny Him.
