Loose Tensions Quilt Group and Stacked Coin Quilts

Today, our ‘Loose Tensions’ quilt group decided to all start the same quilt together as a group. It was fun, and all the different color combinations sure gave each one a unique look.  Here is the one I started for Louie. This was one set of strips sewn together and ironed.001                             Leslie worked in patriotic fabrics.                007                                   Jeanne cut her strips from Christmas fabrics.008                                        Jeanne sent me a picture of her quilt top after she had it mostly assembled. It looks GREAT! (This picture was added one week after our quilt group met.)                                 Jeannes stacked coin 012                      Christie’s fabrics were polka dots and ‘I Spy’ fabrics for her granddaughter.011  013                              Patty’s were golds and browns, and they were really pretty!                                        006015                                            Margaret had 3 1/2" strips already cut, left over from a Turning Twenty quilt, so her’s was a bit different, size wise, but it was very pretty too….                             016                                                 …and she had her quilt top finished before she went home.                                         019                                                       Jeanne in the back, Barb (left) and Leslie hard at work.                           014                                        Patty (front left), Leslie (middle) and Barb.                             005                                               This is what Barb was working on. I just loved her colors. She used black as the background fabric instead of white, or light colors. It looked so rich! This girl knows how to pick colors!009    017                                            Christie (left) decided that Barb’s finished section would make a beautiful table runner! I agree!         018                                                       This was Louie’s quilt with the first two background strips added. The pictures do not show the true colors. The light blue and green fabrics in the photos almost appear white, and make the quilt look like the background fabric strips go horizontal, but they don’t.        004                                                  This picture probably shows the colors about as close as I can capture.020                                      The top is finished! It turned out to be quite a big quilt! Louie is holding it up, and you can’t see him, so it should cover him and keep him quite warm.      025                                 I’m hoping to put it on the frame tomorrow, and if I do, you’ll get a full report, complete with pictures.  Until then…….

Be blessed!                                                Michelle                       Add_Bear_Essentials_Loving_Care_thumb

  6. Looks like a lot was accomplished. All of them are pretty. I am sure Louie's is probably on the bed by now and the machine and frame put back in place. Very pretty!
