Iowa—Christmas Eve Morning

christmas eve 001

It’s snowing, and will be most of the day, they say. We could get up to 7 inches. There is no wind, and the snow is just falling, but accumulating fast. It is beautiful, and for me, being home is the best place to be.

Do you ever feel sad Christmas eve, or Christmas morning? It seems that the celebrating, cheerfulness, and anticipation, really, goes on the whole month of December, and  is over in a blink. It’s like someone shuts off the lights, and ‘back to reality’ sets in again.

For me, it’s a sad time. I don’t ever want it to end.  I get teary eyed, and have been known in the past to cry, and say I don’t want to open gifts, because when I do, then comes the end to this wonderful, glorious, happy season. It’s time to think about jumping back on the fast track and starting the new year over again.

I wish we had another month to celebrate, but really,we can celebrate each and every day. There won’t be nonstop Christmas songs playing on the radio 24/7, and there won’t be Christmas lights to look at, or the anticipation of celebrating with our friends and family, but we can celebrate the birth of our Savior, and what his birth has meant to each and every one of us who know Him, and has made Him our own. We can celebrate by reading our Bibles, fellowshipping with Christian friends, and listening to Christian music. We can be a messenger for God and do His works. We can celebrate each and every day and know that we have received the GREATEST gift, by the GRACE that HE extends to us.

I pray each and every one of you are happy, healthy, and safe this Christmas eve. If you travel, please be careful, and in your celebrating, please remember the REASON for the SEASON!

Add Jesus Baby

Be blessed,

Michelle

  4. What a wonderful post Michelle. Yes sometimes I'm sad but more often than not I'm just at peace, thank goodness. Since my kids have come and gone I'm taking today to take down and repack most of my Christmas decorations. I wanted to organize them carefully and label better than I have in the past. We're going to be storing them in a different place than before so I want them just perfect - next year I'll be able to pull out only the boxes I know I want, some early, some later. I love organizing. :) Merry Christmas! blessings, marlene

  6. I agree with you. It is such a happy time and then it is over and life gets back to normal. But I have decided that I am gonna have Christmas all year long. I am gonna try anyway. There were so many things that I didn't do for people that I wanted to so I am gonna start Jan. 1. I am the biggest procrastinator there is. We will see. This is such a true post!!!
