Louie and I went junkin today again. On our way to Davenport though, we stopped at Petersen Hagge Furniture and bought a new La-Z-Boy Pinnacle Reclina-Way Reclining Loveseat. Louie will go get it on Wednesday, weather permitting.
We continued on, picked up my sissypoo, went to Dynasty (chinese buffet) for lunch, then went junkin. Here are some of the things I found.
A homemade baby crib bumper with puppy fabric. $2.99 It feels like it has some solid foam rubber pieces, and it also feels like it has batting. I am going to take the stitches out of it on the side and ends, and I will end up with a piece of fabric about 4 yards long, by about 18”. I thought it would be fun fabric to use when making some Quilts for Kids quilts. If there is batting in there, that will be a bonus too! UPDATE: I ended up with a chunk of fabric 4.5 yards long by 21”. Inside the fabric was an old bumper pad and a chunk of foam rubber to make it a little longer.
I found the piece of fabric below with the smilies on it for 65 cents. There is about 4 yards of fabric there, and it looks like 60” wide. The two pieces of white with medical stuff on it were in a bag of assorted fabric for $1.65. There is about 3 or 4 yards of that too, although someone has cut some medical smocks or something out of it, as it is not a solid piece like the smilies.
I found these four pieces of cowboy themed fabric at Goodwill. They are about 18” x 72” long, each. They have all been surged around the edges, so I am wondering if they were used for a western themed event and used as table runners? Linens were on sale today at Goodwill, I paid 69 cents each for them. The black and white striped fabric will be cut into fat quarters for my black and white stash for a ‘someday’ quilt. The b&w fabric was in the bag of assorted fabric that I paid $1.65 for. There are other pieces I did not show from Daisy Kingdom. One is to make a bunny dress for a little girl, one is to make a valentine dress for a little girl, but the skirt part is missing, another one is to make a halloween vest for an adult….all in the $1.69 bag.
I bought these three visors for this summer when I take off my helmet after motorcycle riding to hide my helmet hair. $1.38 each. The white sheet the visors are sitting on, is one of two sheets ($1.19 each—on SALE) I bought to use for quilt fabric. If you enlarge the picture, you can see there is a design on it as well. I got both the flat and the fitted sheets. Queen size.
I have been wondering what I was going to use when I make my new pink and brown quilt I have been buying fabric for (ebay). I have some other pink and browns I am going to use as well, but I wanted to have about 8 or 9 different fabrics, as I am thinking I want to make another quilt with white, like this pinwheel quilt. I would like to make this one a bit bigger though.
I also bought more movies.
Click the names of the movies to watch the movie trailers.
Juno I watched Juno this morning. I enjoyed it.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Nine Months I watched this one this morning too. Funny, but turned hilarious when Robin Williams showed up on the scene!
It was a good day. Hope your day was wonderful too. Have a great Sunday!
Be blessed,
Michelle
Michelle,
ReplyDeleteYou really scored in the fabric purchases during your Saturday junkin jaunt.
During the last month I have been given several small boxes of fabric scraps. I was like a kid with a new toy. One box had real small pieces so will use them for 9 patch block...all in Christmas theme and matching solid colors.
Enjoy the day.
Great day for you!! You found some wonderful finds. Enjoy your Sunday.
ReplyDeleteGood scores on fabric!
ReplyDeleteMy latest score is a fat quarter bundle of Lily and Will in pink from Ebay for $30. I was tickled. I need all three color-ways cuz, well, my son announced a new wee one will be joining the family. I'm preparing...They are only 7 weeks along, so I am praying all goes well...
