The definition of a flimsy is ‘an unfinished quilt top’ (before quilting). I sewed for six hours tonight. I sewed eight blocks into a row, I sewed nine rows, I sewed three sections of three rows, and finally, sewed all three sections together to make my quilt top. It’s big. I always do that, but not always intentionally. I feel I still need a border so the binding doesn’t cut into the blocks. My bindings are usually wider than 1/4”, so I want to add something else to it, but I don’t think I want white. White will make the blocks look like they are floating, and I don’t think I want that.
But…….. that is a decision that will have to be put off for another time, because my bed is calling me, and my alarm clock goes off at 4:30 AM. It’s almost 12:30 AM now.
G’night!
I also love a good sewing marathon but you are going to be one tired gal today! Pretty quilt...love the block!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt!
ReplyDeleteSo very pretty. I am sure you will figure out a color for the border.
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing. Not sure how you do it!!! Gorgeous flimsy.
ReplyDeleteI loved this quilt so much I started one myself ,thank you for the inspiration .
ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! It almost looks like circles when you look at the small picture. But, when you look at the big one, you don't see it, lol.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Can't wait to see what you decide.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful and Blessed day

It's really beautiful. I agree with you...not white. Maybe brown? blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful...It has such nice movement. =)
ReplyDeletelooks great - will be interested in what you do for a border. I often do 2 - one really narrow to frame and prevent the float and then the wider one.
ReplyDeleteLooks great Michelle! Lots of hard work went into it I do believe! I agree that white would not be a good border; not that I'm an expert (because I'm not LOL) but I think a darker color like a dark blue?
ReplyDeletehope you got some rest last night and the day was a kind one today!
betty
I really like it! I'm the same about wanting borders on my quilt. What pattern is it?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flimsy! If you have one of the darker colors that might work good for a border or..try cutting your binding 2 1/4 inch instead of 2 1/2 to help get a narrower binding.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty. What about a black to set off the white and all of the colors.
