Blessings All Around

Last week, Louie learned of a church quilting ministry who could use a sewing machine.  The group makes quilts for residents at the VA Hospital (Iowa City), care facilities, homeless shelters, and Habitat for Humanity. We arranged to meet Kay-Nelle, one of the ladies from the group, and her husband Jerry on Saturday afternoon at their home and deliver the machine. We had a wonderful visit, and learned a lot about their quilting ministry. Kay-Nelle took a photo of us with the machine we donated. Our blessing was new friends!

On Tuesday, Kay-Nelle went to sew with her quilting group, and the ladies were thrilled with the machine.  If you would like to learn more about their church quilting ministry, click HERE.  Kay-Nelle is the lady on the far right.

Here are just a few of the quilts they have made. Aren’t they beautiful?

God has used our little hobby of adopting, fixing and passing on sewing machine orphans to introduce us to a lot of His children. We feel VERY blessed!

Someday, I would like to go visit and sew with them, when I have a free day from work. That would be fun!
