A Very Special Guest!

Cheryl (Cheryl’s Teapots2Quilting blog), an online friend I ‘met’ through blogging, was traveling this week, and was willing to ‘take a detour’ to see me, so we arranged to meet in person.  I took a vacation day from work and we had a VERY nice visit! She gave up four hours of her time just for me! The weather was beautiful! It was sunny, and 82*. It was a bit windy, but we were inside most of the time. We went to Flapjack’s just before noon, ordered for us all, then Louie met us at noon to eat, just a minute or two after they delivered our food. We had enough time for us all to go back to our house before Louie needed to go back to work, and he snapped this picture for us after we all got back from lunch.

In anticipation of her visit, I made her a quilted market bag last Sunday. (Thanks MJ, for the pattern. I have been making them like there is ‘no tomorrow’!) I LOVE the color scheme! I can’t wait to make more using the black and white with other color combinations!

I did the pockets a little different this time. I wanted to show the backside of the quilted fabric for the outside pocket, but I also wanted to show the red from the lining fabric, so this bag was the ‘first’ to have ‘four’ individual pockets on the outside.

The inside got the same treatment.

We really enjoyed the four hours we visited, and I look forward to spending more time with her. I invited her to spend a ‘sewing’ weekend with me some time when Louie is gone playing pool, and we talked about visiting sometime this summer while we are out on a motorcycle ride. She lives about 3 hours from me.

Thank you Cheryl for taking time to see me. God bless, and travel safe!

  8. Getting to meet up with you was the best start to a great trip. Everyone loved the great bag and litter bag you made me. I'm not using it for litter, I'm using it to hold things that I don't want to leave in the seat of the car, but, don't have a place for. It was great on this trip. Can't wait to get to meet up with you (and Louie) again. I had a wonderful time!
