Blackberry Torch 9850

Wednesday night, Louie and I got new Blackberry Phones. We each have had two BB’s before our new ones. My first one was the BB Pearl Flip with roller trackball. Louie’s was a classic model with roller trackball. Our next BB’s were the Bold 9650 with laser track pad. We had enough Belief points to move up early, so we each got the BB Torch 9850 Touch Screen model. We really like them!

Yesterday morning, I was going to write a blog post about our new phones. I went looking through Google for an image of the phone, and I accidentally ran across the Blackberry Trade Up program. I decided to fill out the estimate and see what they would give me. They will give us $55 for each phone. Ok, I’ll take that. That’s a little more than half of what I paid for the phone, and I used it for a year and a half or so. Our first BB phones are still here somewhere, and I think it is just so wasteful for them to be sitting here taking up drawer space. Actually, Louie’s was wearing out, but my BB Pearl Flip phone works perfectly. I can’t throw them away, and since they are data phones, I don’t want to donate them either. I was happy to see that our BB Bold 9650 phones would not live out the rest of their lives in one of our drawers, only to be thrown away later.

So, I spent the next couple of hours printing out estimates, filling out information to get a voucher number, printed the packing slip/voucher, and shipping labels, and then I needed to ‘swipe clean’ both our our phones. I also needed to fill out the rebate forms from our new phones and mail them in so we could get our Visa Debit cards. You won’t believe just how long it took me to do all that, but now the phones are on their way to Blackberry, and in a couple months, we will have money to spend. Yay!  I know a lot of people are buying other types of data phones, but I still love the Blackberry’s.

  1. Sounds like a great program to be able to return your old phones and get some money too!! Enjoy the new phones! Honestly, I still have one of the older cell phones, definitely not a smart one (don't want a phone smarter than me, LOL, I'm so cell phone challenged, I can't even figure out how to put my phone on vibrate :) but I do admire those who are cell phone proficient!

    enjoy the weekend
