Flushmate has a recall. Unfortunately, ours is one of them. We actually had another Flushmate toilet on our main floor, but a few years ago, I noticed that the inner tank was leaking water into the porcelain tank (which is supposed to have NO water). There was no help with it, and replacement of the pressurized tank was more than we wanted to spend, so we replaced it with a regular toilet.
Here is one disturbing video of what happened when the unit exploded.
Here is another video. At the time this guy made the video, there was no recall, but now there is.
I have turned off the water to the toilet, as suggested by Flushmate, until the repair parts arrive. I am thinking maybe a new regular toilet for our downstairs might be in order. This recall notice sure scared the ‘crap’ out of me!
Well, THAT would wake you up!
ReplyDeleteYikes!!! =0
ReplyDeleteOh wow! How scary! I wonder if anyone has been hurt? It sounds like it happens after flushing, imagine if someone was standing at the sink washing their hands and it happened, or had the stomach flu and kept flushing?
ReplyDeleteI shared this post on FB too, in case one of my friends have that toilet.
ReplyDeleteOh my! Hope you get it replaced or fixed soon.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful and Blessed day

WOW! What if a person was "on the throne" when that blew up??!! I think I would replace with a regular one!
ReplyDeleteI have heard about toilets exploding like this; never saw what it looked like after it happened. I agree with you, perhaps a regular one could be a good idea. This past summer one of our glass shower doors just shattered into what seemed like millions of pieces. No one was even in it either (which was a good thing). Funny thing is we decided not to replace the doors and went to a shower curtain. Hubby took the other glass door off and was going to break it and dispose of it. It took him a lot of work with a sledge hammer to get it break.
ReplyDeletedo be safe until replacement parts arrive!
